My business is all about bringing joy and wonder to others with handmade decor offerings. I draw inspiration from subject matter that shows even the small things in life can bring moments of delight. I call this piece "Ode To Mabel" because my dearly departed 15 year old Labrador Retriever, Mabel, found snacking on tree-dropped apples absolutely delicious and heavenly. This, of course, was based on her pleasant expression whilst munching.
With an eye for expressive textiles, I capture the essence of each subject (be it animal or inanimate) by painting with fabric. My layered art is purely authentic using timeless techniques to create lasting visually inspiring pieces.
My media of choice is a colored palette of fabric selected, carefully prepared, and pieced together by hand in such a way as to mimic brush strokes with paint and paintbrush. It's a process that brings me great joy. My wish is to transfer this heart-made energy into your life.
Take home anything from my shop to display how you appreciate who you authentically are with pieces that express your uniqueness.
"Ode To Mabel" 18" x 18" Antique Belle Apple
Title: Belle, Antique Apple (Ode to Mabel)
Medium: Fabric Collage Art
18” x 18” Stretched Canvas Over Wood Frame
The joy for this project “Belle” comes from two sources. The first being the many heirloom apple trees on our 150-year-old farm.
The second is of our beloved (and departed) Labrador Retriever, Mabel, who absolutely loved eating fallen apples from these trees. When Autumn rolls around, I will think of “Belle”, reflect on Mabel’s love, and revel in the sight of deer and their yearlings feasting with vigor.
